Happy Birthday Jett!!!

So I know I'm late, but on the 26th, our big man Jett turned 9 YEARS OLD!!! I can't believe he's getting so big so fast! I love when his birthday lands on a Saturday - we had SO much fun celebrating! As our tradition goes, Daddy took Jett out to lunch - he chose Burgerville (YUM) And then they went to the store to pick out a gift. Jett came home with 2 games - Rock 'em Sock 'em Robots and Operation. So fun! Jett's activity choice for his day was ice skating, so in the afternoon we went with a bunch of family to the ice arena! Jay and I haven't been skating for YEARS but we had SO MUCH FUN! Jett and Tucker were so cute falling all over the place, but they would just get back up and keep going, and loved it - they got better and better though and had a great time! Even Dallas got to try and thought he was the king of the rink as we dragged him along. It was such a fun family activity.  :)  Then in the evening all the family gathered at Nana and Papa's house for pizza, soda, veggies, chips, ice cream, cake and presents. Jett got some great gifts - (thanks everyone!) - and we had a really fun party!

Happy Halloween!

We've been having a great Halloween week and have been enjoying all of the crazy sugar and candy that goes with it! On Friday, we went to our ward's Trunk-or-Treat and we had fun playing bingo and the kids loaded up on lots of candy. For FHE on Monday we picked out and carved our pumpkins. Then, yesterday, we went with Clarissa and Shane's clan to their ward's Trunk-or-Treat and enjoyed yummy chili, lots of fun games and of course all the candy. Dallas was a pro that night and was very fast in getting around to all the cars! Today we had fun playing games and winning prizes at the school's Halloween party and tonight we get to enjoy pizza and Hocus Pocus with Nana and Papa. I'd say we made out great this Halloween and we've all had lots of fun!

And now the costumes!!

Jett wanted to be a robot and Dad helped him make it. Tucker was a bat, and Dallas was a police man. My belly was Mike Wazowski (from Monsters Inc.) and it got great comments and reactions wherever I went! All of the costumes were made the Friday we had our ward party - they were all home made or pulled out of the dress-up bin and we all had a great time wearing them!

Hope you all have had a HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

TRUE BLUE PLUMBING

So, it's official! Jayson has started his very own plumbing business!!!! He left Pro Drain and True Blue Plumbing started up this week and things have been coming along. He's been meeting with Property Management Companies and other Managers, distributing flyers and business cards, talking to friends and acquaintances and just trying to get his name out into the world. So far he's busy doing all of that and hopefully the jobs will start coming in. I am SO proud of Jayson and I know that he'll do great! I'm also very thankful for all of the love and support from family and friends. It's amazing to see how much everyone is rooting for us and helping us along this new road of business ownership. We've been seeing the blessings come through, so THANK YOU!!! And keep the prayers coming! ;)

Now, just spread the word that True Blue Plumbing is the best around and have them call Jayson at 503-747-9989.

The Baptism

Jett was baptized on February 4th and it was so great! Lots of family, friends and teachers showed up to support Jett and he was SO excited! During the baptism, there were tons of kids up by the font to watch and Dallas was right in the middle up front. When they were getting ready to baptize one of the boys, he decided to climb the plexi-glass to get a better view! He looked like he was going to go for a swim and sure made people jump. I couldn't get to him, and he did it again during Jett's baptism.... yeah, that was my kid. It was funny and makes a fun memory. Jett did great and then was confirmed surrounded by tons of worthy, awesome men. It was so cool. Later that evening we had all the family together for a potluck. Thanks to everyone who came and was there for Jett's special day!! Later, Jett commented that even though he was cold on the outside, he felt very warm and good on the inside. He loves being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints and we are so proud of him!

Happy Birthday to Jett!!!

So, we have an eight year old in the house!!! On the 26th, Jett turned 8 and is so excited to be such a great age. We started the celebration at 6:30am when he opened his first gift before school - new superman jammies - (it was pajama day at school!). At school he enjoyed hearing lots of birthday wishes. That evening we had the usual family get together with lots of cake, cupcakes, icecream, and lots of fun presents. It's always great to see everyone on birthdays and Jett sure had fun! On Friday, we went to Out of this World Pizza and Play Place with cousins and friends and had tons of fun! Then on Saturday he went to breakfast and birthday shopping with Daddy, and that evening we fulfilled Jett's request to go swimming for his birthday and had a great time at a fun rec center that had a big slide, lazy river and whirlpool, and a fun swimming area! It was so fun!
Today Jett gets to go to his first Wolf den meeting which happens to be at the firehouse! He's excited and makes the cutest little cub scout! We are looking forward to this Saturday as we prepare for his baptism. It's at 1:00 at the Stake Center and Jett is very ready and so excited for that special day! He is such a sweet boy who is growing up and making good decisions. We're very proud of him and happy that he loves being eight!!

Shadow

So, last week Jayson decided to bring home a new friend...

His name is Shadow (the first name he responded to when our friends found him - it's fitting - he follows us all around the house). Some friends of ours took him in as a stray and had him for about a month. Still unclaimed, they were about to take him to a shelter when Jayson heard about him and called me one day to announce that Shadow was going to come visit us for the night. That night turned into the weekend and now we've had Shadow for a week and have decided to make him part of our family!! He is an Anatolian Shepherd/German Shepherd/maybe some Lab mix, about a year old, neutered, already well trained, and extremely well behaved! He's cool with kids, other dogs, he knows lots of commands - even some nonverbal ones - and only barks once if someone comes to the door - otherwise he's quiet, easy going, and sweet! The kids love him and Jayson is over the moon for this dog! He's ALWAYS wanted a dog - at first I was saying NO, but Shadow is too perfect not to take him in. He's a sweetie and we're excited to get to know him more!!
